Guru Nanak University celebrated the auspicious harvest festival of Pongal with great joy, tradition, and cultural pride. The campus was filled with festive spirit as faculty members, students, and staff came together to honor nature, agriculture, and the hard work of farmers.
The celebration highlighted the traditional Pongal preparation, symbolizing gratitude to the Sun God for prosperity and abundance. Beautiful kolam (rangoli) designs, vibrant ethnic attire, and traditional music added color and charm to the event. Cultural performances, including folk dances and songs, showcased the richness of Tamil culture and created a lively, cheerful atmosphere.
The Pongal celebration reflected the values of gratitude, unity, and cultural harmony, bringing the entire Guru Nanak University family closer together and creating cherished memories.

Guru Nanak University celebrated the vibrant festival of Lohri with great enthusiasm, joy, and cultural spirit. The campus came alive with festive energy as faculty members and families gathered together to mark the harvest festival that symbolizes prosperity, happiness, and togetherness.
The celebration featured a traditional Lohri bonfire, around which everyone joined in cheerful moments of unity and gratitude. Colorful cultural performances, including Punjabi songs and energetic dances, added charm to the occasion and reflected the rich heritage of Punjab. Fun activities and interactive moments brought smiles to all age groups, making the event truly memorable.
The Lohri celebration at Guru Nanak University was not just a festival, but a beautiful reminder of togetherness, cultural diversity, and shared joy, strengthening bonds within the institutional community.

Educational & Excursion trip to Wondrela (WonderLab)

The Department of Biotechnology, University Institute of Emerging Technologies (UIEMT), Guru Nanak University, successfully organized an Educational Excursion and ExcursionTrip to Wondrela (Wonderlab) for B.Tech (Biotechnology) 1st Year students on 10th January at Wonderla Amusement Park, Ravirayala, Hyderabad.
The visit was thoughtfully designed to provide students with experiential learning by integrating education with recreation. Through this visit, students gained practical insights into the laws of physics, water management systems, safety engineering, and energy utilization, while also experiencing an innovative industrial environment. The program significantly contributed to students’ team bonding, stress relief, and overall personality development.
The Department sincerely thanks the Wonderla WonderLab team for their excellent coordination, informative demonstrations, and for providing Certificates of Industrial Training to all participating students, making the visit academically enriching and memorable.
We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Honorable Chancellor and Honorable Vice Chancellor, along with our worthy Rector and respected Director Sir,for their continuous guidance, encouragement, and approval, without which this educational initiative would not have been possible.
The Department strongly believes that this Educational &Industrial Exposure Visit has enhanced students’ practical understanding, broadened their perspective beyond the classroom, and will positively impact their academic and professional journey.

GNU NextGen Summit 2026 | Successfully Concluded

The GNU NextGen Summit 2026, hosted by Guru Nanak University, was successfully concluded on January 10, 2026, at Vivanta Begumpet. The summit received wide and prominent coverage across major newspapers, television channels, and digital media platforms, highlighting its importance within the education ecosystem.
The summit brought together education leaders, industry experts, policymakers, and changemakers from across India to discuss entrepreneurship, innovation, and future-ready skills for school students, with a focus on preparing young minds for emerging career pathways.
The event was graced by Sardar Gagandeep Singh Kohli, Chancellor, Guru Nanak University and Vice Chairman, Guru Nanak Institutions, and Dr. H. S. Saini, Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak University, who shared insights on progressive, student-centric education.
Key highlights included expert speaker sessions, a fireside chat, and student-led innovation initiatives such as the Stockathon and Mini Shark Tank, celebrating young entrepreneurial talent.
With strong participation from educators nationwide and support from TRINITi, the summit strengthened collaboration between schools, universities, and industry. Extensive media coverage further reinforced the summit’s national relevance and the university’s commitment to shaping the future of education.

Book Release Ceremony

University Institute of Emerging Technologies (UIEMT) , Guru Nanak University, is pleased to announce the formal release of the book Gothic Genesis: The Transmission Through Time and Territory, authored by Dr. Aadil Zeffer, Assistant Professor of English and a former Cultural Ambassador to the USA (Fulbright Fellow).
The ceremony was held today, 24th December 2025, at the Vice Chancellor’s Office. We were honored by the presence of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) H.S. Saini, who presided over the release. The event was also attended by Prof. (Dr.) C. Kalaiarasan, Rector; Prof. (Dr.) Harish Kundra, Director, UIEMT; and Dr. P. Ashok Kumar, Head of the Department.
This occasion marks a significant academic milestone, reflecting the University’s enduring commitment to fostering research, scholarship, and intellectual excellence. The release of this original work in such a distinguished forum underscores the value we place on meaningful scholarly contributions. Dr. Zeffer’s book stands as a testament to the vibrant academic culture nurtured at our institution and enriches the ongoing global discourse in its field.
UIEMT extends heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Aadil Zeffer on this commendable achievement.
